I hate when the dream falls into
the edge of consciousness
dribbling away
don’t forget me
I hate when the dream falls into
the edge of consciousness
dribbling away
don’t forget me
I hope in my unhinging
You learned something
About humans
And all they cannot tolerate.

It’s that this is his
and he is his
and the whole is his
and that his is his
that suddenly
nothing is mine
and I miss mine so much more.
I think I’ll wear insanity today
Like a wool coat on a cold day
It’ll fit me well
Enclose the sharp and soft edges
I’ll walk among you all
And you’ll never know
Of the knife in my pocket.

The truth is
it wasn’t the pieces you took
so much as the why.
I’d like to say I feel sorry for you
but I don’t
what you drink is a choice
and how you act is a consequence

In my mind I’m 19
wandering the halls of adolescence
with reckless abandon
I want to be more
I want to be less
I want to be
I want to be
anything I want to be.

And it was in books
that the void was filled
and the nuances of life
became fluffs of nothing
just to be brushed away
because suddenly the world was better.
-MM
I gave up writing
as a pursuit best suited
for those with lost souls.
