If I said yes
and you said no
and we walked away
in separate directions
and kept on walking
in a stalemate
past eachother
arms crossed
eyes narrowed
righteousness and ego
following in our shadows
a little devil dancing
on our shoulders
declaring us each the winner
would invisible apologies
spit at eachother through our minds?
ingrained with contempt
but begging for mercy
traveling through the wall of anger
beaded with sweat
and carrying a heavy burden
make it to our hearts
and open the door
and let in good
while unleashing the bad
wouldn’t it be easier
to just talk?
